July 2022 Updates

1. Medical Disability Seminar Scheduled to be held within Klang Valley, on 1 st and 2 nd Oct 2022. At this event, we will also release key interviews with our prominent advisor and community advocates in conjunction with International Day for Older Persons.

  • This seminar aims to educate on disability claims. Building towards a smart partnership between victims, policymakers, insurance, legal and medical industry.

2. ASEAN Conference on Healthy Ageing 2024. This event will be held in the 1 st quarter of 2024—the proposed county to host Malaysia. This conference will bring together healthcare professionals, financial institutions, insurance companies, lawyers, caregivers, government officials, NGOs, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare product distributors, alternative and complementary medicine practitioners as speakers, delegates, exhibitors, and sponsors.

3. Series of Training Workshops for Care Providers 2022 and 2023. This training will equip healthcare providers, family caregivers and aspiring care staff with the appropriate skills to provide care HOMECARE for the older population. HOMECARE is the care given to a patient in the house (if required) after being discharged from the hospital. It can be acute or chronic illnesses. The training will include treating and caring for a patient with or without a carer. Monitoring the patient’s health is essential, and it also includes providing guidance and counselling to the family member when needed.

4. Roadshow to promote health ageing within the Malaysian context. The
main aim in the care of the elderly is to maintain the quality of life by assisting them to have a full life for as long as possible. There are other factors apart from medical that influence the quality of life of the elderly – such as work, retirement, income, housing, family,community and leisure activities. With that in mind, MHAS plans to host a series of
roadshows in respective states of Malaysia and tackle ongoing issues of the quality of life faced by the older population in individual zones within the Malaysian context.
